Wadi Sa’a Project

The Sultanate of Oman project is located in Wadi Sa’a. The company has done pre-exploration on a total area of about 120,000 ha, and the exploration licence area, which is in the final approval process, has been narrowed to 30,000 ha.

Base metals exploration

The company will focus its exploration activities on the Cyprus-type Volcanic Massive Sulphide (VMS) deposits in the Semail Ophiolite. These VMS deposits are believed to form at active oceanic spreading centres, where enhanced hydrothermal circulation leads to the formation of seafloor vents.

Cyprus-type VMS deposits are important sources of copper and zinc, and often also contain economic concentrations of gold and silver.

Industrial minerals processing

The company has built a minerals processing facility to take advantage of the high-quality limestone and gypsum deposits discovered in the same area.

Quarry management

The company is carrying out quarry management for the production of high-quality limestone.

Meen Lake Gold Project

Project background

The gold exploration project is located 80 km west of the town of Pickle Lake, and approximately 20 km west-northwest of the Golden Patricia deposit, in the Patricia Mining Division, District of Kenora.

Historically, the area’s formerly producing Pickle Crow and Central Patricia mines operated from 1935 to 1966 and 1934 to 1951 respectively, collectively producing 2,068,020 ounces of gold from 4,966,820 tons of ore for an average grade of 0.416 ounces of gold per ton. The Golden Patricia deposit is reported to have an estimated 860,000 tons of ore reserves with a grade of 0.58 ounces of gold per ton.

Previous diamond drilling done on the Meen Lake Project property indicated widespread anomalous gold values, with eight core sections yielding assays in the 0.01 to 0.05 ounces per ton range.

Gold was recovered from quartz veins, vein networks and sulphide replacement bodies which occupied shears, faults, fissures and fold axial plane fractures in highly deformed mafic volcanics and iron formation. Gold-bearing quartz veins were also mined within quartz-albite porphyry sills near the contact of mafic volcanics and iron formation.
